Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day! I know I did. My boyfriend took me to one of my favorite restaurants, Jinsei, and gave me some beautiful pink roses and this amazing ring that I'm in love with.

Weekend Getaway: Nashville

I am currently in one of my most favorite cities in the world Nashville, TN. I lived here for 5 years when I was in college and I really really want to move back eventually. I am here with my boyfriend, Brad, visiting his sister, Lori, for her birthday. Happy Birthday Lori even though it was last week! So last night we got here around 8 and we all (Me, Brad, Lori and her husband Brett) went to get dinner at Virago, which is an awesome Asian fusion sushi restaurant with great ambient music and of course food! Everyone got something different and we all swapped rolls with each other. Not to brag, but I picked the best one called the python roll which had fresh jalapenos, caviar, cream cheese, spicy shrimp, some kind of sauce and some other good stuff in it that I can't recall right now. It was really really spicy but also sweet.. so good!

After that we went for dessert at this awesome place called The Patterson House. The vibe is roaring 20's in the south with all the bartenders in vests and ties looking almost like a group of steampunkers, pressed copper ceilings, walnut bar, dark built-in bookshelves everywhere giving it a parlor feel, beautiful glass chandeliers casting a warm glow and great music! they were playing one of favorite bands the Black Keys :) Oh and lets not forget the cocktails! I love places that pay attention to details and The Patterson House definitely takes the cake on that one. The drink list was really cool and had things I had never even heard of and they make their own syrups and bitters from fresh fruits and herbs. Our waitress did some cool trick where she took an orange peel and held a lighter under it over Brad's drink for a few seconds and it disappeared. I got this drink called a Moscow Mule that tasted similar to a lemon drop martini but with a kick of ginger. I can't remember what everyone else had but I tried a sip and they were all tasty. So anyways if you are ever in Nashville definitely check out those places. Today we are going shopping at some vintage stores so hopefully I'll find some cool threads and post some pics later.
